Fat Tuesday/V-Day Eve had us snarfing down the goods like: 

 And thennnn the big day arrived...

...for ashes to ashes...

...dust to dust!...

When Ash Wednesday meets VaLENTine's Day:

But whether Momma was fasting or not, there wasn't gonna be no squelching of cards and candy and all things Heart Day for a pumped up toddler!  Cake pops for breakfast?  Sure, why not...

^^ We worked hard shopping for treats and then stickering and coloring and taping a stack full of homemade valentines last week, and Harper was so proud to march her bag of goodies right into the daycare!

Thanks again to her teachers for welcoming us to the classroom party! Harper had a blast catching up  with all of her long lost friends!!!

Wrapped up the night with some hugs and snugs for our new little heartthrob!

Cheers, cheers, and MORE CHEERS to Love!  ..."Love" with the capital "L," that is!  Because all V-Day joking aside, today didn't come down to choosing between reconciling our faith and the traditional Hallmark celebration of erotic love. Today starts the preparation our hearts to receive the divine mercy that awaits us at the end of these forty days, and we're wholeheartedly celebrating a Love more substantial and costly than we can fathom; a Love that rose above sin and death and calls us His friends.
