- Mountainside Lovin' -
All the love in the world for these people I'm so very lucky enough to call FAMILY! :-* :-* Not much else to say, so I'll just shut up and let the pics do the talkin'...
- The mountains are calling... -
...and I we must go!
Family vacation, here we come!
I should've immediately plucked the wild hair in Brian's @$$ that wanted to drive alllll the way to Colorado (927 miles! 14-ish hours.....that is, for adults with robot stomachs and iron-man bladders.....which means 16+ for the combo of hungry tummies and temperamental bladders belonging to the prego/toddler in the truck!)... But! $700 savings in 'da banking account versus in the Southwest CEO's pocket and my argument was weaksauce.
^^ The roadtrip was shockingly great; smooth sailin' all the way as Harper read books and napped and fed/rocked/snuggled her baby and played games for the majority! We stayed in the remote middle-of-literally-nowhere part of Kansas for the night and could only find one hotel in a 60-mile radius with a vacant [non-smoking] room:
...the vacancy was easily explained the second we got inside and scoped out the scene. #thesignsaysitall Of course, Harper loved it like: hotel life is the life for meeee!
The next day we drove drove drove more more more and finally pulled into the Colorado condo! :) :) :)
^^ "Daddy's tubby" was the hit of the first night among playing cards and coloring and consuming copious amounts of this momma's delectable guacamole! #dontmindifido
Hellooooooo, UNCLE BLAKE! We've waited so long to see you!!!
Hikes and family and scenery; oh my! Harper picked up on someone's exasperated, "This is gorgeous!" and her famous word for .e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. for the rest of the week was "dor-gess"...which almost always proved to be an accurate adjective.
Hey there, chipmunks...
Uncle Blake invited the whole fam to the famous Dillon Dam Brewery [AKA "The Dam" and the largest brewpub in the Rockies] where he's a manager; goes without saying we got great food and service! ;) :) [Bee tee dubs, I just had a dream last night about The Dam's Cowboy Dip; little fetus starting to demand some midnight womb service and that "Dam" dip is a thousand miles away!]

In the evenings we chilled in the condo and enjoyed some great music by Steve and Tommy!
On to Breckenridge! Harper loved the gondola ride up the mountain this year [much unlike last year].
We tried to get one last photo of everyone together; our remote was running out of batteries and we nominated Tommy to stand in the middle of the street while tempting it to trigger...
"Ees dor-gess!" Check off the boxes of: did some family shopping on Breckenridge Main Street where Harper picked out a souvenir [only one!]...and found a large furry friend to sit on...AND played at the arcade at Downstairs at Eric's [which is family favorite, might I add]!

Sarge ["Darge"] really enjoyed the few free moments he had alone and away from Harper's constant doting...
...^^ which you can tell were really few and far between. [We heard that Sarge slept for a week straight last summer after we left!]
Only on "vay-kay-tin" does Harper get to play at the park in her PJs and eat [a monitored amount of] junk food straight from the bag...
On the very last night [tear, tear, more tears!] I coerced the family into posing for few mountainside photos... So many more of those right on ova' here!
Last dinner and brewery together...[hashtag: the last supper?]...
...and justlikethat, a full nine days was over and we're "home, James!" [I don't even know what that means, but my mom always said it when we were kids and I guess I'm growing into my old woman's shoes a little more than I'd like to admit.] A day full of laundry and grocery shopping and tidying up the house and it feels like we never even left!
Phew!!! Three seconds to breath and onward to 4th of July festivities!
So! Until next time, CO....... Stay beautiful!!!
xoxo
