- Hardwood Floor -

Watch out; the hardwood floor is goin' down!

DAY 1: Friday

On day 1, the boys spent a LOT of time figuring out where to start. [For real. I had an entire laundry cycle finished by the time they stapled the first board down.] With all the nervous energy, Mom and I knew we weren't going to be trusted with the hammer OR nail gun... So what to do? Cook lunch, of course! We brought our tiny George Foreman grill from the apartment and set up shop on the deck. Hamburgers and chips, anyone? :)

DAY 2: Saturday

I skipped out on day 2, but everyone seemed to be off and rollin'! Looks good!

DAY 3: Sunday

It's day 3...and the boss of the house means business!

There's never a dull moment when Uncle Marti stops by for a heckling session!

After three days of squatting, bending, and muscling up, we are certified contortionists. Just kidding! The house is looking great, though. Lots of hard work. So proud of everything accomplished. Our entry way and master bedroom are completely finished, and the kitchen and living room only have a little more to go. Woo hooooo! :)

Once the floors are donezo, we can install the cabinets and vanities that are waiting patiently at RP Lumber.

...And then the lights.

...And then the furniture and decorations.

Wow. We are getting so close!

[And regardless of "how close" we actually are, we are getting evicted from the apartment on May 18!]

Goodbye house, hello home!
